Application: the potential causes of sexually violent offenders

While a great deal of research has been conducted attempting to identify the causes of sexual offending, a general consensus has not been reached. Instead a mix of social, environmental, psychological, and biological factors have been found to contribute to differing degrees of sexually violent offenders. Thus, when attempting to gain insight into the factors that may have contributed to a sexually violent offense, it is important to analyze each case thoroughly. All of these factors may be useful when trying to determine why someone engaged in a sexually violent offense. For this Assignment, select a sexually violent offender. You also will write about this sexually violent offender per the guidelines of your Final Project. Then consider any social, environmental, psychological, and/or biological factors that may have contributed to the sexually violent offender’s behavior. Note: This Assignment will be a part of your Final Project. You are required to incorporate Instructor feedback from this Assignment before submitting your Final Project in Week 11.
